My Virtual Assistant Experience

From early 2009 through the summer of 2011, I owned and operated my own virtual assistant business (VAforBloggers.com) full-time. During that time, I worked with dozens of amazing clients, received mentions by and recommendations from some of the top bloggers in the industry, spoke at the New Media Expo (back then it was called BlogWorld) conference in Las Vegas, and even brought on a couple other virtual assistants and service providers to help with my workload. I bootstrapped my business, building it from the ground up on a foundation of hard work, determination, and lessons learned, and was the main provider for my husband and I while he continued his education.

In 2011, I decided it was time for a change and I completely shifted my business. Even though VAforBloggers.com continued to thrive, I made the decision to cut back, reposition my services and take on a totally different client base, and spend more time with my family and on personal projects, my hobbies, and my spiritual growth. That’s when The Home Life {and Me} was born. I moved my services here, changed my title to “blog helper”, and began working on totally different projects with a totally different clientele.

If you’re keeping track, you’ll notice that since 2009 I’ve built, grown, downsized, and repositioned (with, I’m sure, more repositioning to do in the future) a business as a virtual assistant (all on my own terms). I’ve struggled, worked hard, and made more mistakes than I care to share. I’ve worked with countless clients on a range of projects. I’ve written a successful eBook on how to get started in this industry. I’ve spent time pouring myself into and coaching new virtual assistants.

Virtual Assistant Coaching Packages

I offer two different virtual assistant coaching packages. The reason I do it this way is because I’ve learned that there are two types of coaching clients – those who just have a few questions and need the answers to those in order to push forward, and those who need more in-depth and time-intensive help and coaching.

“Pick My Brain” Email Virtual Assistant Coaching

For those of you who fall into the “just have a few questions and need the answers to those in order to push forward” group, I offer ”Pick My Brain” Email Virtual Assistant Coaching.

Here’s what it entails:

  • You submit five questions to me via email (using a questionnaire I’ve created).
  • Within 48 hours (not including weekends or holidays), you’ll receive my answers to your questions via email.
  • The cost is $25 per five questions.

Here are the guidelines for this package:

  • PayPal payment must be received before I respond to your questions.
  • Questions are answered first-come, first-served.
  • No follow-up email exchanges are included in the price. My answers will always be researched, thorough, and provide you with any applicable resources you need. You’ll get the same caliber advice and answers as is provided during a ”Dig in Deeper” Skype or Google+ Virtual Assistant Coaching session, but without having to pay for an entire 60-minute session.
  • If after you’ve received my email response you have more questions that have popped up, feel free to purchase another ”Pick My Brain” Email Virtual Assistant Coaching package or a ”Dig in Deeper” Skype or Google+ Virtual Assistant Coaching package.
  • Because of the nature of this work, there are no refunds.

“Dig in Deeper” Skype or Google+ Virtual Assistant Coaching

For those of you who fall into the “need more in-depth and time-intensive help and coaching” group, I offer ”Dig in Deeper” Skype or Google+ Virtual Assistant Coaching.

Here’s what it entails:

  • A 60-minute Skype (audio only) or Google+ (audio and video) session where we dive into and address any and all of your questions.
  • You’ll receive a recording (audio only if we used Skype, or audio and video if we used Google+) of our session for your reference later.
  • The cost is $125 per session (that includes the recording).

Here are the guidelines for this package:

  • PayPal payment must be received before your session is scheduled.
  • Sessions are booked first-come, first-served.
  • You’ll submit a questionnaire (one I’ve created) that asks for you to propose several dates and times for our session, as well as more information about you, your business, and what you’d like to cover during your session.
  • When scheduling your session, the dates and times you propose must be at least a week into the future.
  • You must complete your session within 60 days of purchase.
  • Within 48 hours (not including weekends or holidays), you’ll receive an email from me confirming the date and time of your session.

    If none of the dates and times you proposed work for me, we’ll correspond via email to find a date and time that works.

  • Once we’ve settled on a date and time, your session is confirmed and you should add the date and time to your calendar (I won’t be sending you any reminders). You should also add me as a contact on Skype (my username is thebootstrapva) or circle me on Google+.
  • At the time of your session, I will be calling you (via audio only) on Skype. If you’re doing your session on Google+, I will be the one to initiate the Hangout (with audio and video) and invite you to it. Please make sure you’re online and that you’ve tested your equipment before our session begins.
  • Your session will last 60 minutes from your scheduled start time. If you show up late, have trouble with your equipment, or something else happens that eats into your time, we will just have the remaining time left to use.
  • If you need to reschedule your session, I must be notified 24 hours in advance via email. If you notify me ahead of time, we can reschedule it and it’s no big deal. If you’re a no-show for your session and I haven’t been notified 24 hours beforehand, I won’t be rescheduling your session.
  • Within one week after your session, I will email you the recording. That file is yours to keep.
  • If after your session and after you’ve received the recording of your session more questions have popped up, you can feel free to purchase a “Pick My Brain” Email Virtual Assistant Coaching package or another “Dig in Deeper” Skype or Google+ Virtual Assistant Coaching package.
  • Because of the nature of this work, there are no refunds.
