My husband and I are pretty frugal people by nature. We really try hard to make wise financial decisions and be good stewards of the blessings God has given to us – though it’s a level of responsibility and self-control that we are still learning!
I do earn an income working from home, but I’m not the main breadwinner by any means. A larger part of my financial contribution to this family is bargain hunting and helping us to stretch all the money we earn. Every dollar we save is a dollar we can then turn around and put to good use elsewhere.
So with that said – and because I know I’m not alone in my “save as many dollars as possible” mission – I wanted to share with you some of the apps, blogs, and websites that I regularly use to stretch our dollars.
There are a lot of money-saving apps out there. A lot. You could fill your phone with them. If you want to do that, more power to you. But I’ve decided that I just want to focus on a few proven apps – the ones that I get the most from for my time spent.
Ibotta – This is an awesome app for saving on groceries! It’s truly one of my absolute favorite apps and I use it often. Just sign up for Ibotta here and then add the app to your phone. Then you can browse the rebates available. Once you find a rebate you’d like to redeem, you just complete the (super quick and simple) activities listed to unlock the bonus. Then just purchase the item at a store where the rebate is available and scan your receipt to redeem the rebate! Once you reach $10 in rebates, you can cash out for a gift card or cash via PayPal (and it doesn’t take long at all to hit $10!). I love it.
